2. Volunteer. Your time is always needed, whether it's at the shelter with the animals or working behind the scenes. If you're there you will be put to work.
   
   
3. Adopt a friend for life . Choose your next animal from WCHS
   
   
4. Shout it from the rooftops. Tell everyone to adopt from WCHS, educate them on animal safety and how to be a responsible pet owner.
   
   
5. Be Responsible. Always spay or neuter your pets, keep ID tags on them and always keep them properly confined and supervised.
   
   
6. Vote. Support local and national legislation to protect animals
   
   
7. Be a hero. Report animal cruelty, neglected and injured or stray animals. It's you who can save a life and help to educate
   individuals on how to properly take care of their pets.
   
   
8. Teach your children. Set an example to live by. Teach kids how to be kind to animals.
